“The story about Devadasi women in India has been removed on request of ‘Mahila Abhivruddhi Mattu Samrakshana Samsthe’ (MASS). It is an NGO that is working towards empowering Devadasi women. • I am really encouraged to do something new in my career and salute them for their strong will to live ahead in life, thank you for such an inspiring words

  • This is a misleading article filled with falsities. Firstly the statement that all these women were raped is a total lie. It is an insensitive and irresponsible statement. Nor are/were all of them leading a life of prostitution. If you spent three months trying to get to know the women, it is surprising that you didn’t get the nuances of the devadasi system. This story is an insult and causes irreversible damage to the dignity of the women you have written about.
